Summit Crossing will bring over 14,000 higher-paying professional jobs home to Spotsylvania County. The project will provide over 3,000,000 square feet of high-end office specifically designed for government agencies and contractors.
The jobs and office space will be located in two sections of the project — the Spotsylvania Technology Center and the Federal Corporate Campus.
The elements of the Spotsylvania Technology Center exist today, and began as a partnership of defense contractors working collaboratively to solve the most pressing challenges facing our military. Today, the STC partnership includes government agencies, a larger base of contractors, and academia such as the University of Mary Washington and Germanna Community College. The STC is not just an economic benefit to the County, but also an opportunity for local students to gain real world experience and marketable skills without leaving the County.
The Federal Corporate Campus is being specifically designed for government agencies, their contractors, and other high-tech businesses. For the security conscious tenant, the site is outside the 50-mile blast zone centered on Washington DC. In addition, the Federal Corporate Campus will employ security features such as building setbacks from Summit Crossing Parkway and the Corporate Campus Road. If needed, security checkpoints can also be placed to secure the Corporate Campus Road and each of the parking areas.
